Trigger light versus independent worklight

Trigger activation has about 10 seconds of after-glow. DL6293B-00 and HD6294B-00 add a separate button with about 10 minutes of inactivity timeout; the button is disabled while running.

Cordless drill/driver

DL6293B-00

SKIL’s DL6293B-00 is the tool identity used by the compact drill’s manual and parts sheet. DL6293B-10 and DL6293B-1C are kit configurations. It has two speeds, 17 clutch settings plus drill mode, and a worklight with a separate button. The manufacturer’s partial parts diagram identifies body 0710039001 and Version A; it is not a full internal assembly drawing.

Model, manuals & limits

Cordless drill/driver

DL529301

The tool-only model is DL529301, while SKIL’s current family product page is the DL529302 kit. Its official download is a ZIP whose tool manual cover explicitly says DL529301. This two-speed brushless drill uses a 1/2-inch metal keyless chuck and 17 clutch positions plus drill mode. No torque rating is filled in here because one was not verified in the chosen official product and manual sources.

Model, manuals & limits

Cordless hammer drill/driver

HD6294B-00

HD6294B-00 is SKIL’s compact hammer-drill tool identity. Its manual separates screwdriving, drilling and hammer drilling, and lists 17 clutch positions. The indexed parts document has a kit-style filename but its illustrated header explicitly identifies HD6294B-00, body 0730069001, Version A. Its 27,000-per-minute upper impact rate comes from the manual, avoiding the malformed number on the product page.

Choose three SKIL drills for assembly, cabinets or masonry

For rotary work, compare access, lighting and full kit cost. Consider HD hammer mode only for suitable masonry; do not rank unknown weight conditions or unsupported capacities.

More guides for this brand

Choose a specific model, control or documentation question.

  • DL529301 and its kit manuals

Use gear 1 and a numbered clutch setting for the DL529301 screw trial. On the QC536001, flashing green means charging; red is not a normal charging indication.

  • DL6293B compact setup

WORKLIGHT can switch the light on and off while the tool is stopped. Trigger activation times out after about 10 idle seconds; button activation after about 10 idle minutes. The button is disabled while running.

  • DL6293B or DL529301

For cabinets, consider DL6293B’s independent light and actual dimensions. Price the bare tool and missing items if you already own compatible equipment; a tiny speed difference is not an efficiency ranking.

  • DL6293B or HD6294B

For assembly, check DL6293B’s access first. HD6294B’s extra mode matters only when the material, bit and installation requirements permit hammer drilling.

  • Handle SKIL specification conflicts

Match the exact configuration and page field, separate manual-supported operation from unresolved delivery contents, and do not assume the largest number is right.

  • HD6294B hammer setup

Do not hammer wood, metal, ceramic or plastic. Drilling and hammer functions lock the clutch, so a low number does not limit every reaction. The 13 mm chuck specification is not masonry-hole capacity.

  • SKIL model and kit suffixes

Identify the tool externally, then record package, document cover, Body Number, Version and date together. A parts drawing is not disassembly permission.

  • SKIL battery compatibility

Record all three exact models and verify both connections. A newer model absent from an old list needs confirmation, not forced fitting or a permanent incompatibility assumption.

Sanders

Check pad support and body clearance separately

Conceptual top view, not actual dimensions or a minimum-clearance template. A circle leaves an inside-corner area; a detail point reaches closer, but housing, hand and canister may stop travel first. Check the complete route unplugged.

  • SR211601Round-pad random-orbit sander

    • Nominal 5-inch pad; 125/128 mm conflict retained.
    • 7,000–13,000 OPM with a numbered dial.
    • External vacuum-hose fit not verified here.
  • SR250801Pointed-pad detail sander

    • Conflicting product and catalog pad dimensions.
    • 12,000 OPM; no speed dial documented.
    • Catalog names 1-1/4-inch hose fit for this model.
  1. 1 · Broad supported surface

Do not tilt the round edge into the corner. SR211601 remains unplugged until its applicable stopping sequence is clarified.

  2. 2 · Point access is not whole-tool access

Keep the pad flat and supported; change method where body clearance prevents a controlled outward and return stroke.

SKIL SR211601 versus SR250801: broad surfaces or corner detail

Consider SR211601 for broad surfaces and variable speed, SR250801 for accessible corner detail. Until SR211601 stopping instructions are clarified for the actual tool, assess it unplugged and do not trial-sand.

More guides for this brand

Choose a specific model, control or documentation question.

  • Choose a suitable sander

Choose contact geometry before power or brand. Some corners are better finished by hand than by buying another machine.

  • Five preflight checks

Check material, machine, abrasive, collection and workholding before a controlled sample; an unloaded run is not a substitute.

  • Adjust pressure and speed

Use two comparable sample areas and change one factor at a time instead of blaming every poor result on speed.

  • Grit sequence and acceptance

Use a defined bare-oak and water-based stain example to plan 120 to 150, with checks for continuing, advancing or returning a stage.

  • Model-specific dust setup

    Choose DCW210, DWE6423, SR250801 or SR211601 collection, then follow a complete DWE6423 original-bag example.

  • Align and fit a sanding disc

Fit an eight-hole hook-and-loop disc to a DCW210 or DWE6423, check the edges and troubleshoot lifting paper or poor extraction.

  • Sander will not start

First distinguish a missed connection from a shutdown accompanied by electrical damage. The external problems you can correct are limited; repeated starting does not clarify an unknown fault.

  • SR211601 disc and dial checks

Check 5-inch paper, holes and retention, and understand dial 1–6. Do not run a powered trial until the applicable stopping procedure is clarified.

  • SR211601 canister setup

Fit, inspect, empty and refit the supplied canister while distinguishing the tool connection from the housing/filter joint and diagnosing loose fit or falling collection.

  • SR250801 corner access

An unplugged fit check for the pointed pad, housing, dust canister and return path before choosing powered or hand sanding.

  • SKIL SR250801 replacement paper

Conflicting size descriptions are a poor basis for buying parts. Use the explicit CDA9004 paper compatibility and identify a replacement backing pad separately.

  • SKIL sander dust ports

A hose advertised as 1¼ inches may not fit your actual connection. Identify which end inserts, which surrounds it and how it stays attached before deciding what the purchase still needs.

  • Random-orbit start and stop

Compare ROS20VS and PCL406 normal sequences, rehearse without power and keep unresolved model instructions separate.

  • Support and clamp the work

Arrange support and restraints for a flat panel or narrow strip, then rehearse the whole tool and collector path with power disconnected.

  • Inspect before changing grit

A stopped, cleaned inspection uses three scratch examples to decide whether to continue, investigate contamination or advance, including paper, pad and edge checks.

  • Corded sanders and extension leads

Read the exact current row and total-length column. A higher AWG number means a thinner conductor, not greater capacity.

  • Route cords and extraction hoses

Rehearse the full disconnected stroke to find pulling, clamp snags and loops falling under the pad before sanding.

  • Match the dust collector and filter to the material and tool documentation

A fitting connector is only one part of the system. This DWE6423 and DWV010 example identifies the hose, filters and bag as well as the material boundary.

  • Check scratches with side light

Clear dust, change the light and viewing direction, then distinguish remaining coarse scratches from new isolated marks.

  • Old-wood hardware inspection

Follow a reclaimed shelf across faces, edges, joints and bracket backs, then separate removable fittings from unresolved hardware.
