Compact cordless drill/driver
DS18DDX is a US/Canada sub-compact driver drill. The official US listing includes two 1.5Ah batteries, a UC18YKSL charger and a hard case, rather than documenting a tool-only package. Use its own manual and parts list, not the similarly named DS18DEX documents.

DS18DEX is the 18V driver-drill member of a shared DS18DEX/DV18DEX manual. The official US listing describes a two-battery 2.0Ah kit. Reactive Force Control is documented but is not a guarantee against kickback; the manual warns it may not activate in every situation.

DV18DEX is the hammer-drill model in the shared DEX manual, with hammer applications described for soft brick and concrete block. It has a separate illustrated parts list from DS18DEX. The US product listing is a kit with two 2.0Ah batteries and a charger.

DDX is lighter. Both DEX models share ordinary capacities; DV adds suitable soft-brick and block hammer drilling. Choose the task before the kit.

Keep the original tool identity and check tool, pack and charger separately. Continued support for old Metabo equipment does not make every new HPT tool accept its batteries.
Use LOW/HIGH for the speed range and numbered clutch settings for screws. Hand-tightening, the trial and restoring battery power are separate steps with their own checks.
Consider DDX for light assembly; for a softwood hole beyond its 36 mm listing, check the DEX 52 mm limit and the specific bit requirements.
After RFC intervenes, remove the cause of sudden loading. Indicators help classify a stop but cannot replace secure work, grip and accessory checks or justify a deliberate jam test.
DS18DEX covers ordinary wood, metal and driving tasks; DV18DEX adds suitable hammer drilling, not a larger ordinary drilling capacity.
Use numbers for screw trials, the drill symbol for rotation and the hammer symbol for suitable brickwork. Align the selected position with the body triangle, never between settings.
Current US DEX listings specify two BSL1820M packs; another manual configuration specifies one. Confirm the actual order rather than treating either list as universal.
DEX models explicitly list BSL36A18 and BSL36B18. Confirm charger and mains input too; old Metabo platforms do not merge merely through branding.
