Check a Metabo HPT drill kit: batteries, identities and the manual

Make the order specific before buying

“18V drill kit” does not establish whether it is ready to use. Specify full tool model, battery model and count, charger and storage. Current US product pages list:

Manufacturer accessory listings also call 333353M BSL1815X; the older DDX manual says BSL1815. Keep the part number and actual full label rather than treating an abbreviated name as proof of an unchanged historical version. A specification saying a belt hook is available does not replace the order’s contents list.

Why a manual may say one battery

DDX manual C99258161 G, print code 006, printed page 19 lists the 2EGK configuration with two BSL1815 packs, UC18YKSL, plastic case, bit and one battery cover.

The shared DEX manual C99268561 G, print code 208, printed page 21 lists the 2BGS configuration with one BSL1820M, UC18YKSL, bit, battery cover, bag 375801M and hook assembly 379397. The current product pages specify two packs and different bag/hook numbers.

Do not guess away this discrepancy. Separate the manual’s configuration from the seller’s actual SKU and obtain written quantity and accessory confirmation. Neither the one-pack manual makes every two-pack listing wrong, nor does the current page add a second pack to every old or used order.

Establish safety before checking delivery

Do not approach, touch or remove a smoking, leaking or persistently abnormally hot pack to count or photograph it. Keep away and seek local emergency guidance. With stable equipment safe to approach, keep the tool disconnected and charger unplugged.

1. Confirm DS18DDX, DS18DEX or DV18DEX on the tool, not only the box.
2. Count packs and record each model, capacity and visible part number; check for swelling, cracks, scorching or damage.
3. Confirm UC18YKSL and its input label. US documentation specifies 120V, 60Hz; matching plug shape is insufficient.
4. Check case/bag, bit, hook and promised battery cover against the order. Optional accessories are not automatically included.
5. Record missing or different items safely and resolve them with the seller before modifying or forcing a combination into use.

If the order promises two 377797M packs and one arrives, ask about that missing item. If the order explicitly sold one, another page does not automatically change your purchase.

Check the manual too

Open the complete file, confirm the actual model and US/Canada scope on the cover, then use the appropriate language. DDX page 9 lists specifications and UC18YKSL; shared DEX page 10 lists both tools, with hammer entries belonging only to DV18DEX.

Save document code, print code and relevant page numbers. Download date is not revision date. Ask the manufacturer to resolve label or accessory differences. A parts sheet helps identify service requirements; it is not a reason to open a new tool to compare internals.

Compare the ready-to-work total

Existing owners can price exact tool-only configurations; first buyers need to include any missing charger, spare pack and bits. Two packs assist rotation, not guaranteed continuous work, and capacity does not specify a fixed hole count.

Keep the order, confirmed contents and safely taken label photographs. A specific missing item, wrong model or wrong region is easier to resolve than “it differs from something online.”
