This FX1131-1A example identifies each component. Also check charger input and safe condition before use.
Identify all three components
First establish that equipment is stable and safe to approach. If a battery is smoking, leaking or persistently abnormally hot, do not approach, touch or remove it to read a label. Keep away and seek help under local emergency guidance.
FLEX 24V identifies a platform; 2.5Ah and 6Ah describe capacity; 160W and 280W describe chargers. Record the actual tool, battery and charger labels separately, especially with loose packs, used bundles or imported equipment.

| Component | Example identity | What not to confuse |
|---|---|---|
| Compact drill | FX1131 | FX1131-1A identifies a kit, not a battery |
| 2.5Ah pack | FX0111; retail FX0111-1 | -1 does not identify a different voltage |
| 6Ah Stacked Lithium pack | FX0331; retail FX0331-1 | The technology name does not promise kit inclusion |
| 160W charger | FX0411; retail FX0411-Z | Its -Z is not a drill’s tool-only number |
| 280W charger | FX0421; retail FX0421-Z | More watts do not shorten every charge proportionally |
These are US FLEX 24V identities, not a universal cross-brand compatibility table. Ask the manufacturer about unreadable labels rather than relying on appearance or trial insertion.
Complete both compatibility checks
The official FX1131-1A contents explicitly name the FX1131 tool, one FX0111 2.5Ah pack and FX0411 160W charger, providing a complete example.
- Confirm safe condition first. Do not approach, touch or remove a smoking, leaking or persistently abnormally hot pack for identification; keep away and seek emergency guidance.
- With stable, safely inspectable equipment disconnected, read FX1131 on the tool and FX0111 on the pack. Check the tool’s approved battery information: this is the first connection.
- Read FX0411 on the charger and find FX0111 in its compatibility list. This is the second connection; operating the drill does not prove an unknown charger is suitable.
- Check mains input separately. US FX0411 specifies 120V, 60Hz. A 24V battery output does not authorize connecting the charger to incompatible mains.
- Examine housing, contacts, plug and cable for visible damage. Swelling, cracks, scorching or deformation mean stop and resolve the problem, not continue a charging experiment.
Once both connections are confirmed, follow the charging temperature, ventilation and location instructions. Do not alter contacts, force a latch or use an unidentified adapter to solve a mismatch.
If an older manual omits a newer pack
FLEX states cross-compatibility within this 24V platform; current FX0411 and FX0421 charger instructions also list the FX0331 6Ah pack. An older tool manual may predate a pack, so omission alone is not proof of incompatibility.
Check current manufacturer platform, battery and charger information, confirm the tool really belongs to this 24V family, and resolve regional or revision questions with the manufacturer. Do not buy an adapter first. This reasoning does not extend to other FLEX voltage systems or other brands.
Charger watts are not a waiting-time multiplier
The current US instructions list approximately 30 minutes to full for FX0111 2.5Ah on either FX0411 or FX0421. For FX0331 6Ah, the respective estimates are 65 and 35 minutes. Higher charger power therefore has different benefits with different packs.
These are approximate manufacturer times, affected by ambient temperature and battery condition, not guaranteed countdowns. A hot pack may need to wait. Do not force cooling, obstruct vents or bypass protection to hurry. If you mainly use 2.5Ah, do not expect dramatically shorter waits merely because 280W exceeds 160W.
Keep a brief purchase record
Write: tool model → battery model/count/capacity → charger model/input → missing items. With an FX1131 and sound FX0111 already available, you may need only a compatible, mains-appropriate charger rather than another drill kit.
FX1151-2A and FX1271T-1H product contents state capacities, quantities and charger wattages; still record individual labels on delivery. A separately sold battery code is not a permanent promise about every historical package. For a used or seller-assembled bundle, request exact written codes before paying rather than asking only whether it is FLEX 24V.
