Exact K 4 and K 5 configurations

The K 4 uses an 8 m hose arrangement while the Premium K 5 shows a hose reel and 10 m route; both display their matched gun and bottle system.

    • Maximum 130 bar; operating 110 bar (11 MPa).
    • 8 m PremiumFlex hose, G 160 Q gun and Vario Power lance. Plug n Clean detergent system and water-cooled motor.

    • Maximum 145 bar; operating 125 bar (12.5 MPa).
    • 10 m PremiumFlex hose with reel, G 160 Q gun, Vario Power lance, Plug n Clean and water-cooled motor.
  1. Reach

Measure whether 8 m is enough or 10 m removes a regular move.

  2. Storage

Assess the reel as a hose-handling feature, not a power rating.

  3. Supply

Match 9 or 10 L/min minimum inlet requirements to the chosen machine.

  4. Kit

Resolve the K 5 page packing-list ambiguity before treating extras as included.

This compares the two stated UK product codes only. It does not assign the same hose or flow to every K 4 and K 5. Conceptual schematic, not a product image or scale drawing.

Keep the two product identities visible

The comparison is K 4 Power Control Flex 1.324-302.0 versus K 5 Premium Power Control Flex 1.324-716.0, both UK examples. It does not cover all K 4 or K 5 machines, older Full Control models or other countries’ electrical versions.

Item K 4 Power Control Flex K 5 Premium Power Control Flex
High-pressure hose 8 m 10 m
Hose reel Not listed for this exact K 4 Included on this Premium K 5
Maximum pressure, product page 130 bar 145 bar
Maximum flow, product page 420 L/h 500 L/h
Operating pressure, manual 110 bar 125 bar
Minimum inlet supply, manual 9 L/min 10 L/min

The figures are not a cleaning-speed test. Keep maximum flow separate from the manual’s rated delivery data when comparing other machines.

Decide whether the reel and reach solve a problem

Measure the hose route from a stable machine position to the far side of the work. If 8 m already covers it comfortably, an extra 2 m may be less important than storage or budget. If 10 m avoids a regular stop to reposition, that is a specific benefit of the K 5 configuration.

A reel organizes the hose; it does not make the machine safe to pull by the hose. Both units still need stable placement, orderly routing and careful packing away. Judge the value by how often you deploy the machine, not by treating the word Premium as a promise of easier every-day handling.

The control approach is similar

The verified products use the G160Q Power Control gun, Vario Power lance and a dirt blaster, with a Plug ‘n’ Clean detergent system. The adjustable lance and gun indication help select a setting, but the surface still determines which attachment is allowed. A higher machine class does not make a dirt blaster safe for delicate finishes.

Do not apply a K 3 tank-filling procedure to these bottle systems. Detergent selection, bottle preparation and low-pressure operation must follow the matched instructions. Neither control display is a substitute for a small inconspicuous test on a surface whose cleaning instructions permit pressure washing.

Check the water source before paying for more capacity

The documented minimum inlet supplies differ:9 L/min for this K 4 and 10 L/min for this K 5. Check the flow at the actual garden-hose outlet. A higher-specification washer is not an upgrade if its supply repeatedly falls short. Both examples also have inlet-temperature limits, and suction use needs the specified hose and procedure.

The manual operating pressures are lower than the product-page maximum figures. Do not use the maximum as a target for a home-made pressure test, or claim that the ratio of maxima predicts cleaning speed. Nozzle, surface and technique are part of the outcome.

Resolve the K 5 packing-list ambiguity

The UK page for 1.324-716.0 is titled K 5 Premium Power Control Flex, but its supplied-items section also mentions Home-kit items. That creates a purchasing ambiguity. This guide does not guarantee aT 5 cleaner, brush or detergent bottle for every seller’s package. Ask for the exact packing list tied to the product code before pricing those items as included.

For the K 4, also compare the actual included list rather than assuming that photographs define the package. A bundle is better value only if its confirmed accessories replace purchases you genuinely need.

Make a bounded choice

Shortlist the K 4 when 8 m is adequate and the work does not justify the K 5’s reel and extra reach. Shortlist the K 5 when repeated deployment over a longer route makes those features valuable and the supply meets 10 L/min reliably. Then compare complete confirmed kit prices.

If either machine exceeds your storage or supply constraints, step back to another arrangement rather than choose a winner from this pair by force. The sound result is a machine that suits the site, not automatically the higher-numbered family.

Work through a supply-and-kit decision

Suppose a timed check at the intended garden-hose outlet fills an 8 L container in 50 seconds. The arithmetic is 8 ÷ 50 × 60 = 9.6 L/min. This is a hypothetical supply measurement, not an independent washer test. It exceeds this K 4’s 9 L/min minimum but is below this K 5’s 10 L/min minimum. Do not round it up or replace the minimum with maximum output flow. Recheck repeatability under the actual water-use conditions; a one-off result is not a guarantee of sustained supply.

If the routed reach also fits the K 4’s hose, it remains a candidate once the other requirements are met. If the K 5’s reel or reach is genuinely needed, improve and remeasure the supply first. Then obtain the packing list for 1.324-716.0: an unconfirmed T 5 cannot be counted as an included saving. A supply-qualified machine with an incomplete accessory budget and a fully equipped machine with inadequate supply are two different unresolved choices.
