K 3 Car & Home: two kits and one tank system
A K 3 unit with removable detergent tank connects to a 7 m hose; the car brush and foam jet are separated from the T 1 surface cleaner.
Identity
Match UK 1.676-107.0 and the actual packing list.
Attachments
Keep car-cleaning tools and the surface cleaner distinct.
Tank
Use the matched K 3 detergent instructions, not K 4/K 5 bottle instructions.
This model uses a removable tank. The diagram deliberately does not show a Plug n Clean bottle system. Conceptual schematic, not a product image or scale drawing.
Start with the product code
The machine in this guide is the UK K 3 Power Control Car & Home,1.676-107.0. Other K 3 products can have different hoses, accessories or controls. Confirm the full number and the instructions supplied with the unit before applying an operating detail.
The UK product page lists a 7 m high-pressure hose, Vario Power lance and dirt blaster. Its Car kit includes a wash brush, foam jet and car shampoo; its Home kit includes the T 1 surface cleaner and patio/deck detergent. Verify the delivered packing list rather than assume another “K 3” listing includes the same items.
Understand what the two accessory groups solve
The car accessories address detergent application and contact cleaning; they do not make the dirt blaster suitable for vehicle paint. Choose the approved mode and attachment for the surface. A brush should be checked for trapped grit before use, and a damaged finish still needs the vehicle manufacturer’s cleaning guidance.
The T 1 is a surface-cleaning attachment, not a replacement for checking the paving condition. Loose joints, fragile coatings and drainage still affect the work. The useful value of this bundle depends on whether both accessory groups solve jobs you actually perform.
Distinguish the detergent systems
This K 3 uses a removable detergent tank, not the K 4/K 5 Plug ‘n’ Clean bottle system. Before removing, filling or refitting the tank, switch off, unplug, close water, release retained pressure and lock the trigger. Prepare compatible detergent according to its label, close the tank and refit it securely. Do not insert an unrelated bottle because another Kärcher uses that arrangement.
For the tank route, fit the Vario Power lance with the machine safely isolated and select MIX as instructed for detergent application. The included foam jet is a separate attachment with its own container and mixing method. A filled tank cannot correct a foam attachment’s empty bottle, and a different Vario spray position does not make both routes equivalent.
Before detergent touches the surface, have the correct rinse arrangement ready and choose a section you can finish before the product dries. Stop, isolate electricity and water, release pressure and lock the trigger before changing attachments. Never mix products or compensate for missing detergent by adding more concentrate before checking the route.
After detergent use, the matched manual specifies flushing with clear water for approximately 30 seconds. This means water-fed cleaning of the detergent path, not running the pump dry or a universal frost-draining timer. Empty and clean the tank according to the instructions before storage.
The gun’s pressure indicator is not reliable when using a surface cleaner or other accessories. A different indication in that configuration is not by itself a measured pump fault. Check the fitted accessory and its own instructions rather than turning up the setting to chase the display.
Read the rated and supply figures separately
The product page lists maximum 120 bar and maximum 380 L/h. The matched K 3 instructions list working pressure 8 MPa and delivery rate 5.5 L/min, alongside a minimum supply requirement of 8 L/min. The 8 L/min inlet requirement is not the rated output flow; these figures describe different parts of the setup.
The verified package has a 5 m power cable and 7 m high-pressure hose. Plan their routes independently and keep electrical connections appropriate for outdoor wet work. The page does not establish a self-priming option for this exact K 3; do not borrow the K 4/K 5 suction procedure.
Decide whether the bundle is better than a simpler kit
If you regularly wash a car and maintain suitable small hard-surface areas, compare the cost of this exact bundle against a simpler machine plus the accessories you would otherwise buy. If only one of those jobs matters, an unused kit is not a saving.
Before purchase, verify water supply, storage and the replacement parts available for the actual gun and hose. Choose it for the matched accessories and usable reach, not because every K 3 must be a universal middle option. The same family badge does not erase the differences between packages.
