Separate body and package identity

DCW210 identifies the machine; DCW210B and DCW210P1 identify sales configurations. Keep the suffix and read the included-items list, not just the photograph.

The comparison below concerns the documented US packages. Other regions, promotions and used bundles may differ. Do not assume a case, spare pack or abrasive assortment is supplied because it appears in another offer.

This exposes missing equipment; it does not prove a universal value winner. Both arrangements still need suitable abrasives, workholding and dust controls. A supplied bag does not authorise unknown-coating sanding.

Check whether your existing batteries are usable for this job

Record full pack and charger identities, compatibility and condition. Colour, voltage labels or physical fit do not suffice. Damaged, deformed, leaking or abnormally hot packs are not usable inventory.

Availability also matters. One compatible pack shared with a drill may create interruptions. Conversely, another charger may add little useful value when you already have sufficient equipment. Do not automatically count its retail price as a personal saving.

Build two like-for-like budgets

  1. Bare route: current tool price plus the approved power equipment and required items actually missing.
  2. Kit route: current kit price plus required items still absent.
  3. Include common costs such as abrasive, extraction connection and workholding on both sides.
  4. Judge duplicate equipment by real need, not assumed resale proceeds.
  5. Compare actual contents, shipping, tax and applicable support before the total.

Without an existing power system, compare bare tool plus complete power against the kit. With a complete usable system, ask whether the kit premium buys something useful. These buyers need not make the same choice.

Capacity is not a job-duration promise

P1’s 5.0 Ah identifies capacity, not how many boards can be completed. Material, grade, removal goal and pressure affect demand. Charging minutes are not sanding runtime.

If interruption matters, plan compatible power and charging rather than an unverified adapter. A hose still constrains a cordless setup; the kit does not eliminate workspace planning.

Check delivery before inserting a pack

Compare the actual tool, dust bag, battery and charger with the order. Check the body’s Type and applicable instructions; a package-page download does not prove every shipment always has one Type. Read the actual charger input label.

Resolve missing, wrong or damaged items instead of improvising power. The useful purchase is the setup that completes the job without unwanted duplicate equipment, not the largest accessory count.

Count what is missing, not just the boxes

The simplified drawings distinguish the tool from added battery and charger; actual contents come from the exact listing.

  1. 1. Tool-only option

Add only the compatible equipment you still need to buy.

  2. 2. Kit option

Check the included battery and charger models, then price any remaining gaps.
