Keep sales and body identifiers separate

The box and label are conceptual, not actual label locations. The product-page code and displayed service identity must not replace the individual serial number.

  1. 1. Sales entry

ROS20VSC and 0601387514 locate the selected package information.

  2. 2. Body and service match

ROS20VS identifies the related manual body; compare 3601C87511 with the actual corresponding tool field.

Put four identifiers in different fields

A missing adapter, operating instructions and replacement service parts are different questions. Reducing everything to “Bosch five-inch sander” makes it harder for a seller or support agent to know what you need.

This example concerns the selected US ROS20VSC configuration. Preserve names and numbers as shown rather than changing one into another to make them appear to match.

Swipe or scroll horizontally to see all columns.

Identifier Purpose here What it does not replace
ROS20VSC Sales product/package name for order and contents checks Actual body label and complete serial number
ROS20VS Body model covered by the related operating manual Confirmation of every retail bundle’s contents
0601387514 Identifier in the selected official product URL Your individual tool’s complete serial number
3601C87511 Part identity displayed at the product page’s service entry, to compare with the corresponding tool field Proof that your tool matches merely because the page shows it

For a stable tool safe to approach, switch off, wait for all movement to stop and unplug before photographing external labels. Do not open the housing for identification. With smoke, continuing abnormal heat or other danger, do not approach or manipulate it for a photo; address safety first.

Let the actual question choose the field

“No adapter in the box” starts with the exact ordered package and promised contents, not a different operating manual. “How is speed adjusted?” starts with the actual body and its applicable manual section, not a guess from a V in the package name. A service part also requires the corresponding body part identity and actual serial information.

For a used machine, make these checks separately. Its box may be appropriate while the pad or canister has been changed. Complete accessories do not prove the inside has never been repaired. Identification matches documents and parts; it is not authentication or a condition warranty.

Count against the contents list, not a generic picture

The selected US page checked on October 23, 2026 lists a sanding disc, RS034 soft pad, 2609170071 dampening ring, 2609199179 microfilter canister, VAC002 hose adapter and carrying bag. Keep three columns: page expectation, seller commitment and actual receipt.

Check visible items and packaging without removing an installed pad or dampening ring merely to count it. An installed component need not arrive in a separate bag. If it cannot be established externally, mark it unconfirmed and ask the seller rather than declaring a missing part.

For a missing VAC002, identify it exactly and provide existing-item photographs when asking whether the order includes it and how it will be supplied. Additional seller-provided paper is a separate bonus, not a different body specification or evidence of stronger performance. Do not apply this list automatically to other dates, regions or refurbished bundles.

Check pad number and current hardness description together

Matching a replacement pad number still requires hardness and task suitability. There is a specific difference between current US product/accessory listings and the older manual table:

Location RS033 RS034
Current US product page and accessory catalog Extra-soft Soft
2610051955, 08/18 manual, printed page 13 Soft Extra-soft

Agreement between current listings does not establish why the old table differs or constitute an official erratum. Before purchase, confirm the applicable pad number, current hardness and use with Bosch for the exact body. A seller’s “soft pad” description is not a substitute for the number. Current listings call RS035 hard, but that does not make it right for every surface.

Do not resolve naming uncertainty by adding foam, stacking pads or trial-fitting unknown accessories. Purchasing confirmation and installation are separate; the correct part still requires the exact operating procedure.

If the manual omits the package suffix, what next?

The relevant manual is 2610051955, revision 08/18, covering ROS10 and ROS20VS in English, French and Spanish. Confirm the actual body is covered, then use its specific controls and accessory sections. Two models on one cover do not share every feature.

The US page lists a 120 V configuration. If the nameplate or purchase market differs, obtain documentation matching the actual region and electrical configuration. Translation language and similar pictures do not establish power-supply compatibility. Do not reject a manual solely because its cover omits C, or accept one solely because it says ROS20.

Keep one useful support record

Save the order’s package name, complete body label, service identity field, serial number and applicable manual revision. Ask clearly: “The package is …, body is …, corresponding part identity is … . I need to verify this accessory/instruction … . Please confirm the applicable configuration.”

If actual fields differ from the product page, use Bosch’s matching-model lookup or support before ordering service parts from that page. Success means knowing which contents list resolves shortages, which manual governs this tool and which identifier service needs, not combining all numbers into one familiar-looking name.
