Three packages, different power equipment

Three generic package diagrams show battery and charger present only in the middle kit.

  1. 1 · GSR12V-300N

Tool package without battery or charger.

  2. 2 · GSR18V-400B12

One BAT612 2 Ah and an 18V charger; confirm the charger model.

  3. 3 · GSB18V-975CN

Battery and charger are separate; also confirm the required side handle.

Crossed dashed outlines mean not included. These are package symbols, not product photographs.

Put the three packages side by side

These are US sales versions. Keep the complete suffix when comparing quotes; do not extend this suffix pattern to every Bosch product.

Sales SKU Tool Battery Charger Other listed contents
GSR12V-300N GSR12V-300, 12V Max Excluded Excluded Magnetic four-tip holder, four bits, belt clip
GSR18V-400B12 GSR18V-400, 18V One BAT612, 2 Ah One 18V charger; exact model not stated Belt clip, bag
GSB18V-975CN GSB18V-975C, 18V Excluded Excluded Belt clip

A retailer may bundle extra batteries, while a photograph may show equipment not included. Ask for the model and quantity of every extra on the order. For the 975C, confirm the side handle too: its features mention a handle, but this contents list names only the tool and belt clip. Do not start work without required handling equipment.

Already own batteries? Check two separate matches

Copy the actual battery model, not just “blue Bosch battery.” The 12V Max and 18V families are different.

  1. Match the exact battery to the proposed tool using the applicable compatibility information.
  2. Match that battery to the charger. Charging one existing battery does not prove that a charger suits a different platform.
  3. Read the charger’s input voltage, frequency and market label. A plug adapter does not change its required supply voltage.
  4. Only then remove existing equipment from the shopping list. Leave uncertain items as “confirm or purchase, ” not as free compatible equipment.

For example, an owner of suitable Bosch 18V equipment considering the GSR18V-400 can compare the actual bare-tool offer with the B12 kit after checking model compatibility. Its extra BAT612 may be useful for rotation, but not essential if enough batteries are already available. Choosing the GSR12V-300N instead does not make the existing 18V equipment fill its 12V battery and charger gaps.

First purchase? Compare ready-to-work cost

For furniture assembly, the GSR18V-400B12 already lists power equipment, but the job’s drill bits, driver tips, eye protection and workholding still need accounting for. The bits in a GSR12V-300N package do not replace its missing battery and charger.

Split each quote into tool or kit, missing compatible battery, matching charger, job accessories, and delivery/taxes. Mark genuinely usable equipment “already owned, ” unnecessary items “not needed, ” and unresolved items “confirm.” Do not assign zero cost to an unanswered question. Use current purchase quotes rather than assuming kits or bare tools are always cheaper.

A useful seller question is: “What exact charger model comes with this GSR18V-400B12? Is the battery one BAT612 2 Ah? Please confirm the input rating and list the actual contents on the order.”

Check the delivery before charging

Compare the package code, tool model, battery model and quantity, and charger model/input with the order before fitting a battery. Look externally for cracks, loose parts, damaged switches, swelling, leakage or abnormal battery contacts. Stop if identities differ or damage is visible. Do not force a pack, modify a connector or add an adapter to rescue a mismatch.

Keep the order and contents list, and photograph missing or incorrect items. Supply serial numbers and personal order information privately when support needs them. A complete package and equipment in sound condition are separate checks; finish both before setup and charging.
