AdvancedAquatak 160 supply gates

For Ireland 06008A7870: separate inlet demand from output ratings and check installation requirements before planning a patio job.

  1. Water

At least 9.5 L/min clean supply; no more than 40 °C.

  2. Electricity

Verify installation requirements; do not modify a breaker or plug.

  3. Work area

Only proceed when both supply checks and a safe position are established.

A larger pump is useful only when both the water supply and electrical installation meet its instructions.

Start with Ireland’s exact package

Bosch’s Ireland listing identifies Adv. Aquatak 160 as order 06008A7870. The matching AdvancedAquatak 150/160 instructions distinguish the 160 by family 3 600 HA7 8..; the 150 is 3 600 HA7 7… This matters when a search result, shared photograph or manual cover mentions both machines. Neither a green housing nor a similar product name establishes which specification column applies.

The Ireland package lists an 8 m steel-armed hose, metal-barrel gun, fixed fan nozzle, variable fan lance, rotary fan lance, 550 ml detergent nozzle and metal water filter. The hose and lance descriptions differ from AdvancedAquatak 140’s UK package. An attachment that seems to fit is not thereby an approved replacement; verify the exact accessory and connection with Bosch rather than forcing a coupling or assuming every Aquatak generation shares it.

Resolve the two supply gates before cleaning

The 160 has a 2600 W input rating, induction motor and four-cylinder Quad pump. Its current product page lists 160 bar maximum pressure and 10 L/min maximum flow. The manual instead supplies the operating and inlet distinctions: 120 bar rated pressure, 8.5 L/min rated output and at least 9.5 L/min supply. These are different definitions, not conflicting measurements of the same operating point. They do not establish that maximum flow occurs at maximum pressure.

Gate What to establish If it is not established
Water Clean supply meeting at least 9.5 L/min; inlet temperature no higher than 40 °C Do not start and hope the pump will compensate
Electricity Actual nameplate and installation meet this model’s instructions Ask a qualified electrician or the electricity supplier before use

The electrical gate deserves particular attention. The manual specifies premises with service current capacity of at least 100 A per phase on a nominal 230 V distribution network, and a circuit breaker of at least 16 A, type C or higher as specified. Service capacity is an installation characteristic, not a claim that the washer draws 100 A, and the instruction is not permission to upgrade a domestic breaker. Do not select an adapter, larger fuse or different plug to bypass an unsuitable supply. An ordinary-looking socket does not settle the question.

For water, an editorial screening calculation can make a weak tap obvious: 9.5 litres collected in 60 seconds equals 9.5 L/min, exactly the minimum with no margin for fluctuations. Measure at the end of the intended supply arrangement with the machine disconnected. This is not a manufacturer test or a substitute for observing reliable supply during use. Restrictions, leaks and changing demand elsewhere can invalidate a reassuring result.

Plan a route for the heavier machine

The published weight excluding accessories is 22.4 kg; do not mistake a shipping or differently defined machine weight for a directly comparable lifting load. The reel and telescopic handle help organize the machine, but do not make carrying it up steps a good default. Choose a stable, level location, a clear hose route and a safe place for dry electrical connections before moving the unit.

For a sound patio, work in sections that let you retreat onto stable footing without crossing the spray or pulling the machine with its hose. Clear loose gravel and objects first. If the available working position requires a ladder, leaning over an edge or spraying toward sockets, change the method rather than trying to reach farther with recoil acting on the gun. Hold the gun and lance with both hands.

Prime, select a lance and test one section

  1. Inspect the cable, pressure hose, gun and safety devices; stop if damaged. Check the water filters and use only clean water through an approved supply arrangement with required backflow protection.
  2. With the switch off, open the water and squeeze the unlocked trigger until a constant flow clears the air. Release and lock the trigger before switching on. Point the gun safely down, unlock and squeeze to begin.
  3. Begin with a fan pattern on an inconspicuous sound area. Keep the lance moving and inspect the result before increasing cleaning intensity. Stop for coating loss, loosened pointing or surface erosion.
  4. Treat the rotary lance as a different cleaning action, not simply another fan width. Bosch excludes rotary nozzles and pencil jets for motor vehicles. Do not use the rotary option to hurry a painted-car job.
  5. Use the separate 550 ml detergent attachment only with a compatible cleaner and the cleaner’s directions. Keep children, pets and unprotected bystanders out of the working area.

Stop without confusing autostop with isolation

Releasing the trigger normally stops the motor. The machine can restart when the trigger is squeezed; silence therefore does not mean it is unplugged or depressurized. At completion, switch off, unplug safely with dry hands, close the water supply and release remaining pressure toward a safe direction before disconnecting.

Pulsing calls for supply and accessible-filter checks after shutdown, not endless trigger cycling. A recurring electrical trip, damaged hose, leak from the machine body or persistent abnormal noise is a service boundary. Do not open the pump, adjust its safety devices or convert the power connection. Clean the owner-accessible filters as the matching instructions show and store protected from frost.
